Bizcrush Privacy Policy (ADELAB Inc.)

ADELAB Inc. (“Company”) operates the BizCrush service (“Service”). We are committed to protecting your personal information and complying with applicable privacy laws in the jurisdictions we operate, including the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and California Online Privacy Protection Act (CalOPPA). This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect through BizCrush, how we use and share it, and your rights regarding this information. It applies to all BizCrush-related services worldwide, and is written in English for our international users. (Note: BizCrush is intended for users 18 years of age or older and we do not allow anyone under 18 to register or use the Service)

  1. Personal Information We Collect and Use

We collect various types of personal information from you to provide and improve the Service. We only collect what is necessary for the purposes described below. In all cases, we process your personal information for legitimate business purposes or with your consent. The types of personal information and purposes include:

  1. Account Registration: When you sign up, we collect your mobile phone number and name (required). We use this information to verify your identity and intent to register, authenticate ownership of the phone number, create your account, and provide you with notices and personalized information .

  2. Business Card Upload: If you choose to add your business card, we collect the image of your business card and the information on it (such as your name, phone number, email, company name, job title, and company address), which are required. You may also optionally provide a profile photo. We use this information to create your BizCrush profile, build your network, facilitate business matching, and recommend your profile to others .

  3. Business Card Capture via NFC/Bluetooth: When you use our NFC or Bluetooth-based feature to register another person’s business card, we collect the other person’s business card image and details (name, phone number, email, address, company, department, title, company address, telephone, etc.) as provided by that person . This allows you to save the contact in your BizCrush address book and use our networking and contact exchange services.

  4. Business Card Exchange: When you actively exchange business cards with another BizCrush user via NFC or Bluetooth, we collect the business card image and information of the other party (similar details as above) and share your corresponding business card information with them. This enables mutual exchange of contact information and relationship management within the Service .

  5. Import from Contacts: If you use the feature to import contacts, we access names, phone numbers, and email addresses from your device’s address book (required). This is used to help you add contacts to BizCrush and recommend connections based on your existing contacts . (We will request permission before accessing your device contacts.)

  6. Gifticon Exchange: If you use our gift voucher (GiFTicon) sending feature, we collect the recipient’s name and mobile phone number (required) to send, verify receipt of, and allow re-sending of the gift coupon . This information is used only for delivering the gifticon to the intended recipient and associated customer service (such as resending if necessary).

  7. Paid Services (Purchases & Refunds): If you purchase paid services or request a refund, we collect the information needed to process the payment. For credit card payments: name, phone number, email, partial card number, card issuer, etc. For bank transfers: account holder name, account number, bank name . We use this information to process your payment, provide the paid service, handle refunds, and address any customer service issues related to payments.

  8. Customer Inquiries: If you contact us through 1:1 inquiry in-app or via our contact email, we collect your name, phone number, and email (required) with your inquiry . We use this to identify you as a user, investigate and address your request or issue, and respond back to you.

  9. Automatic Data Collection: During your use of the Service, we automatically collect certain technical and usage information: e.g. device information (operating system, device model), IP address, UUID (a unique identifier used for Bluetooth discovery), advertising identifier (e.g. mobile Ad ID), and records of your visits and clicks within the app/website . We use this information to provide and improve features such as personalized services, network recommendations (suggesting connections), and to optimize advertising display and content relevance. For example, your Bluetooth-based UUID helps detect nearby BizCrush users for networking, and your advertising ID and usage patterns help us tailor the in-app experience and ads to your interests.

  10. Additional Data for Events/Promotions: From time to time, we may host special events, contests, or promotions through the Service. If we need to collect additional personal information for these (beyond what is listed above), we will inform you at the time of collection and obtain your consent, providing details on what information is collected, for what purpose, how long it will be retained, and your right to refuse or withdraw consent . Participation in such events is voluntary. We may also receive personal information about you from external partner companies or organizations (for example, an event organizer or a business partner) if you have given consent to that third party to share your information with us . In such cases, we will use the information in accordance with this Privacy Policy and any additional terms provided at the time of collection.

  1. Sharing of Personal Information and Third-Party Service Providers

We do not sell your personal information to third parties for profit, and we do not share your personal information with third parties without your consent, except as described here for the operation of specific services or as required by law. When we do share information, we ensure the recipient only uses it for the specified purposes and protects it appropriately.

(a) With Your Consent or Use of Specific Features: If you use certain features of BizCrush, or participate in certain services, we will share your personal information with third parties as needed with your consent. If you do not use these features, your information is not shared in those ways. The scenarios include:

  1. Business Card Sharing with Other Users: When you use BizCrush’s NFC/Bluetooth features to connect or exchange business cards with another user, each party will receive the other’s business card information. In other words, your business card image and details (name, contact info, company details, etc.) will be provided to the other BizCrush user you connected with, and you will receive theirs, to facilitate networking. This exchange only occurs when you actively engage in a card exchange or allow your card to be scanned, and the data is retained in each other’s BizCrush contacts until either you or the other user deletes it or terminates your account.

  2. Event Hosts (B2B Services): If you participate in an event or program organized by a third-party host using BizCrush’s enterprise (B2B) features, we may share certain information about you with the event organizer with your consent. For example, an event host may request attendees’ profile information or contact details for networking or follow-up purposes. In such cases, we will disclose your relevant information (such as your name, company, title, contact info, and networking profile) to the event organizer only after you have agreed (e.g. by registering for the event through BizCrush or opting in via the app). If you do not opt-in or do not participate in such B2B events, no information will be shared with event hosts. Any information shared in this context will be used by the host solely for the purposes of facilitating the event or providing related services, in accordance with the consent you provided.

  3. Advertising and Analytics Partners: We may share certain user data with our advertising/analytics service provider to support personalized advertising and content recommendations. Specifically, we allow an advertising service provider (currently Concat Inc.) to collect and process identifiers and usage data for tailored ads . The information shared may include your mobile advertising identifier (Ad ID) and Service usage logs (e.g. app visit, search and click history). This data is used to analyze your interests or preferences and to provide you with targeted advertisements and network recommendations within BizCrush . The ad partner is authorized to use this data only to serve you BizCrush-related personalized ads or recommendations, and not for their own unrelated purposes. We set a retention period of approximately 2 years for such usage data with our ad partner , after which it is deleted or de-identified.

  4. Gifticon Fulfillment: If you use the gift coupon (GiFTicon) feature, we share the recipient’s name and phone number with our gift coupon service provider KT Alpha (KT GiFTicon) in order to issue and deliver the gifticon to the recipient . The provider uses this information to send the gift coupon via SMS or other means and to handle any resends or inquiries regarding the gifticon. They are contractually required to protect this information and use it only for providing the gifticon service. The recipient information is retained by the provider only as long as necessary to fulfill the gift distribution and as required for customer service or legal compliance, and is then deleted (for example, by the end of our contract with them)

In all the above cases, we will only provide your personal information to these third parties when you have elected to use the corresponding service or feature, thereby indicating consent. Users who do not use these features will not have their information shared in those ways . Also, any such third party receiving personal data is obligated to handle it in accordance with this Privacy Policy and applicable privacy laws.

(b) Legal Compliance: We may disclose personal information if required by law or legal process, or in response to valid requests by public authorities (such as subpoenas, court orders, or government demands) and only to the extent permitted by law .

(c) Service Providers (Entrusted Processing): We employ trusted third-party companies to perform certain business-related functions on our behalf (processors). When we outsource processing of personal information to service providers, we do so pursuant to contracts that ensure your information is kept secure and used only for the contracted purposes . Our current service providers and their roles include:

  1. Concat Inc.: Provides server hosting and Bluetooth-based service operation (supporting the proximity networking features). This means Concat may handle data such as device identifiers (including UUIDs) and networking signals to ensure the Bluetooth discovery function works. They retain access to personal data only for the duration of our contract .

  2. KT Alpha Co., Ltd.: Handles GiFTicon dispatch and customer support related to gifticon delivery. They use recipient information (name, phone) to send gift coupons and assist with any issues or support requests regarding those coupons . They retain personal data only for the duration of our contract.

We monitor and supervise these service providers to ensure they comply with privacy and security standards. They are not permitted to use your information for any purpose other than the specific service we have requested, and upon contract termination they must return or delete the personal data.

Aside from the scenarios above, we do not share your personal information with any third parties without your consent. In particular, we do not share or sell personal data to third-party marketers for their own use . If in the future we need to share information in a new way not covered by this Policy, we will notify you and obtain your consent as required.

  1. Retention of Personal Information

We retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, or as required by law. In principle, if you delete your account (withdraw from the Service), we will promptly delete or anonymize your personal data so that you can no longer be identified . However, certain information may be kept for a period of time after account deletion in accordance with internal policies or legal obligations. We ensure any retained information is safely stored and not used for other purposes.

(a) Retention under Internal Policy:

We may retain personal information for a limited time under our internal data retention policies, even after you deactivate your account, for the following reasons:

  1. Prevention of Misuse: Records of misuse or abusive use of the Service (e.g. history of violating terms) may be kept for 1 year to detect and prevent recurrence of such incidents .

  2. Additional Consent: If during your use of the Service you separately consented to a specific data retention period for certain information (for example, in a promotional event), we will retain that information for the period you were informed of at the time of consent .

  3. Customer Inquiries: Records of customer service inquiries and communications may be kept for up to 1 year after resolution of the inquiry (or up to 3 years for inquiries related to transactions of goods or services) to verify the history and resolve any disputes or follow-up issues .

(b) Retention as Required by Law:

Certain laws require us to keep specific data for a defined period. In such cases, we will retain the information for at least the minimum period mandated by law, then delete it without undue delay. Key examples include:

  1. Records of contracts or cancellations (e.g. records of your service subscription or withdrawal): retained for 5 years .

  2. Records of payments and supply of goods/services (e.g. purchase and payment history for any paid services): retained for 5 years .

  3. Records of customer complaints or dispute resolution: retained for 3 years .

  4. Website/app visit logs (access records): retained for 3 months (for security and legal compliance, such as under communications secrecy laws) .

These time periods are subject to extension if required by changes in law. During these retention periods, the data will be stored securely and will only be accessed as necessary for audit, compliance, dispute resolution, or security purposes.

After the applicable retention period expires, or if the data is no longer needed even within the period, we will delete or anonymize the information promptly.

  1. Disposal of Personal Information

When personal information is no longer required (either because you have deleted your account, withdrawn consent, or the retention period has expired), we permanently and irreversibly destroy the data to protect your privacy. We use secure methods that prevent restoration or reconstruction of the data .

  1. Electronic files containing personal data are securely deleted using technical methods that prevent recovery (for example, using secure deletion algorithms or encryption and overwriting).

  2. Physical documents or printouts containing personal data are destroyed by shredding, incineration, or other secure disposal methods.

If any information is subject to a legal retention requirement (as described above), we segregate it from active systems and securely store it for the required period, then dispose of it immediately after the retention period ends . We also ensure that third-party processors holding your information delete it when it is no longer needed.

  1. Your Rights

You have important rights regarding your personal information. BizCrush respects your rights and provides ways for you to exercise them in compliance with applicable laws (including data protection laws in other jurisdictions). These rights include:

  1. Right to Access and Correction: You may access and review the personal information we hold about you at any time by logging into the BizCrush app or website (go to your profile or the settings menu). You can also correct or update your information (such as editing your business card details) to ensure it is accurate and up-to-date . If you cannot find the information you need through our app, you can request that we provide you with details of your personal data that we have collected.

  2. Right to Deletion: You may request deletion of your personal information. The simplest way to do this is by using the ‘Delete Account’ (withdrawal) option in the app settings, which will remove your membership and associated personal data from our systems . You may also contact us to request deletion of specific information. Please note that we may retain certain information if required for legal obligations or internal purposes as outlined in Section 3, but we will inform you if such an exception applies.

  3. Right to Suspend or Restrict Processing: You have the right to request that we stop processing your personal information in certain circumstances. For example, if you feel we are processing information beyond the purpose for which it was collected, you can request a restriction. We will evaluate such requests, and if there is a legal basis that requires us to continue processing (for instance, if the information is needed to comply with a law), we may deny the request with an explanation . Otherwise, we will comply and limit or cease the processing of your data as requested.

  4. Right to Withdraw Consent: Where our processing of your personal information is based on your consent, you have the right to withdraw that consent at any time . For example, you can opt out of optional services or remove optional data (such as an optional profile photo) that you have provided. Withdrawing consent will not affect the lawfulness of any processing we conducted prior to your withdrawal. If you withdraw consent or delete your account, we will stop processing the relevant information.

  5. Right to Rectification: If you believe any personal information we have about you is incorrect or incomplete, you have the right to request correction. You can directly edit many details in your profile. If there are details you cannot edit, you may contact us to have them corrected. During the period we are processing a correction or deletion request, we will not use or share the contested information. If any incorrect personal information had been provided to a third party, we will inform the third party of the correction so they can update their records as well .

  6. Right to Data Portability: Where applicable law requires, you may have the right to request a copy of personal information you have provided to us in a portable format. We will provide this in a common electronic format if requested, so you can transfer it to other services.

  7. How to Exercise Your Rights: You can exercise most of your rights directly through the BizCrush “Settings” page or the relevant in-app menus (for example, editing your profile or deleting your account) . For any rights that you cannot exercise yourself via the app, or if you need assistance, you may contact us via the Contact Us feature or by email (see Contact Information in Section 11). You may be required to provide information to verify your identity before we fulfill your request, for security purposes. In certain cases, we may ask you to make the request through a designated agent (for example, if someone is acting on your behalf, they must provide proof of authority such as a notarized letter or power of attorney) . We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.

  8. International Users: If you are using BizCrush from outside the United States or South Korea, additional privacy rights may apply under your local laws. For example, users in the European Economic Area (EEA) or United Kingdom may have the right to object to processing or lodge a complaint with a data protection authority, among other rights similar to those above. We will honor all applicable rights in accordance with the laws that apply to us. If you have questions about your specific privacy rights in your country or region, you can contact us for more information.

  1. Operation of UUID (Bluetooth Scanning)

BizCrush uses Bluetooth technology to facilitate seamless networking between nearby users. When you use BizCrush, a UUID (Universally Unique Identifier) is generated for your device’s Bluetooth signal. This UUID is a unique code that can be picked up by other devices via nearby Bluetooth scanning, allowing BizCrush to recognize your device and connect you with other users or services in proximity .

  1. What is a UUID? In the context of our Service, a UUID is a random identifier broadcast via your device’s Bluetooth. It is associated with your BizCrush profile internally, so that when another BizCrush user’s app detects your UUID via Bluetooth, our system can match it to your profile and enable an interaction. For example, if you are at a networking event and have BizCrush open, your UUID can be detected by others, allowing them to see your name card and initiate a connection request. This happens automatically (an “auto-discovery” of nearby users) when the feature is enabled .

  2. Purpose of UUID Collection: The information we obtain via UUID and Bluetooth is used solely to provide BizCrush features such as automatic network discovery and contact exchange between members . In practice, the UUID itself does not contain personal details; it’s an internal key that our system links to your profile. We do not use Bluetooth scanning data for any purpose other than those described in this policy. Specifically, any personal data collected through the UUID mechanism (like the fact that you were in proximity to a certain user or device) is handled as described in Section 1 (see “Automatic Data Collection”) and is not used beyond providing and improving the networking functions of the Service .

  3. Choice and Control: You have control over the Bluetooth discovery feature. If you do not wish to be discoverable via the UUID/Bluetooth function, you can turn off your device’s Bluetooth or adjust the in-app settings to disable the nearby scanning feature . In the BizCrush app settings, there is an option to disable “auto-discovery” or Bluetooth-based networking. Please note that if you disable the UUID/Bluetooth feature, certain functions—such as exchanging business cards by simply being near another user or automatically discovering other BizCrush users nearby—will not be available or may be limited . You can still use other aspects of the Service by manually exchanging information, but the convenience of one-tap networking via Bluetooth will be absent.

BizCrush does not use Bluetooth to track your precise physical location in the background; it only uses it to detect the presence of other BizCrush users or authorized devices within a short range (approximately Bluetooth range). The UUID system is designed with privacy in mind: the codes rotate or are managed such that external parties cannot easily identify you without also using the BizCrush service. If you have questions about how our Bluetooth features work or need help changing your settings, please contact us.

  1. Operation of Behavioral Information (Tracking and Advertising)

We collect and use “behavioral information” to understand how users interact with our Service and to provide personalized experiences. Behavioral information refers to data about your activities and interactions that can reveal your interests or preferences. This may include, for example, your BizCrush website visit history, app usage logs, search queries, click history, and information about your interactions in offline settings (such as a log that your device’s UUID was detected by an external Bluetooth sensor at a particular time) . By analyzing this information, we can infer your interests, preferences, and needs, which helps us optimize our services and advertising for you.

  1. How We Use Behavioral Data: We use behavioral data to provide you with tailored services and content, such as personalized business contact recommendations, event or connection suggestions, and customized advertisements or promotions . For instance, if the app observes that you frequently search for professionals in a certain industry, we might suggest relevant networking opportunities or content. We also use it to provide “network recommendations,” meaning we may suggest potential contacts or profiles for you to connect with based on mutual interests or proximity. Additionally, behavioral data allows us to show personalized advertisements that are more relevant to you, including offers or services that align with your activity on BizCrush .

  2. Collection of Behavioral Data: BizCrush automatically collects behavioral information as you use our website and app through various technologies (such as cookies, SDKs, or similar tracking tools). For example, when you visit our site or open the app, our systems (or authorized third-party analytics tools) may automatically record the pages or screens you view, the features you click or interact with, search keywords you use, and your device’s advertising identifier. If you permit, we also collect information through external Bluetooth devices; for example, if an event venue has a BizCrush beacon that detects attendees, it may capture that your device (via UUID) was present at a certain time and relay that information to our servers . All such data is transmitted to our servers and, in some cases, shared with our analytics/advertising partner (Concat Inc.) as described in Section 2, in order to analyze and process it for the purposes above .

  3. Third-Party Behavioral Advertising: We allow a trusted advertising partner (Concat Inc., mentioned earlier) to collect and process behavioral information on our behalf to assist in delivering online tailored ads. This means Concat may use the information about your BizCrush usage (e.g. visit, search, click activity and Ad ID) to help identify your interests and provide you with BizCrush-related advertisements optimized for you . In addition, if BizCrush is used in certain offline contexts (for example, kiosks or digital signages at an event), Concat may help deliver personalized content on those offline mediums by recognizing your device via Bluetooth and matching it to certain preferences . The types of behavioral information collected for advertising purposes, and their use, are summarized as follows:

    1. Online Activity: Visit records on our site, app usage data (such as pages viewed, buttons clicked), and mobile Advertising ID are automatically collected and shared with Concat Inc. via tracking tools when you use the Service . Purpose: To recommend products or services tailored to your interests and preferences, including ads . Retention: Up to 2 years, after which it is deleted or anonymized .

    2. Offline Interaction: If your UUID is detected by an external Bluetooth device (e.g. a BizCrush beacon at an event or venue), the device will note your encrypted identifier (UUID match), the time and frequency of detection, and possibly your Advertising ID, and send this to our server . Purpose: To provide you with personalized recommendations or content on specific offline media (which could include targeted ads or messages on a screen at the event) relevant to your interests . Retention: Up to 2 years for the logged data . (All such processing is conducted by or in coordination with Concat Inc. as our advertising/analytics service provider.)

  4. No Sensitive Data in Behavioral Tracking: We do not collect any sensitive personal information as part of behavioral tracking that could strongly impact your rights or privacy. For example, we do not collect information about your ideology, beliefs, family relationships, medical history, or any other sensitive areas purely through behavioral monitoring . Our behavioral data collection is limited to usage patterns and interaction data needed for personalization. Moreover, BizCrush is not directed to minors under 18, and we do not knowingly collect behavioral data from or target personalized ads to children or minors .

  5. Your Choices – Opting Out of Personalized Ads and Recommendations: We believe you should have control over the use of your data for personalization:

    1. In-App Settings: You can opt out of receiving personalized advertisements through BizCrush by disabling the “personalized ads” or similar option in the app settings . If you opt out, we will stop using your usage data to tailor ads for you; you will continue to see ads, but they may be less relevant to your interests.

    2. Bluetooth Networking Recommendations: If you do not want to receive network recommendations based on Bluetooth proximity (for instance, suggestions to connect with a nearby BizCrush user), you can turn off the “nearby discovery” feature in settings, or simply turn off Bluetooth on your device . This will prevent the app from detecting or being detected by nearby users, effectively opting you out of the Bluetooth-based networking suggestions.

    3. Device-Level Opt-Out: You can also reset or limit your mobile device’s Advertising Identifier (Ad ID) or enable any “Limit Ad Tracking” setting on your phone. This will reduce the extent to which your usage can be tracked for advertising across apps.

    4. Do Not Track on Web: (See Section 14 on Do Not Track signals for web browser choices.)

    5. Additionally, you may generally opt out of cross-app personalized advertising by using industry-provided tools such as the Digital Advertising Alliance’s opt-out (if applicable). Keep in mind that if you choose to disable certain tracking or personalized features, some of BizCrush’s functions (like seamless contact exchange via Bluetooth) might be affected, as mentioned. We will continue to respect your settings and not use or share behavioral data for personalization when you have opted out .

  1. Member Responsibilities

We are committed to protecting your privacy, but you also play an important role in safeguarding your personal information and the information of others. As a BizCrush member, you have the right to privacy as well as the responsibility to protect your own information and respect the privacy of others:

  1. Safeguarding Your Own Information: You should keep your account credentials (login ID, password) secure and not share them with anyone. Be cautious about the information you choose to include on your BizCrush profile or business card. Although BizCrush is a professional networking platform, please avoid posting personal data that you are not comfortable sharing. We also encourage you to keep your profile information accurate and up-to-date to prevent any issues that may arise from outdated or incorrect data . You are responsible for any consequences arising from inaccurate information you provide, so it is in your interest to correct any errors and maintain current information .

  2. Respecting Others’ Privacy: You must not misuse or improperly handle other users’ personal information. For example, if you gain access to another user’s business card or personal details through BizCrush, you should use it only for legitimate networking purposes. Do not use someone else’s information for unsolicited marketing, harassment, or any unlawful purposes. Additionally, avoid posting someone else’s personal information in any public area (such as a community forum or group chat within BizCrush) without their consent. Each member should take care not to infringe upon the privacy or rights of other users .

  3. Avoiding Privacy Violations: If a member were to willfully or negligently leak another person’s personal information or defame someone using personal data obtained via BizCrush, such actions could violate privacy laws or other regulations. We remind you that you could be subject to legal penalties under applicable laws (such as personal data protection laws or network information laws) if you misuse personal information obtained through our Service . In short, treat others’ data with the same care and respect you would want for your own.

BizCrush may take action against accounts that abuse personal information or violate others’ privacy, including suspension or termination of account and cooperation with law enforcement if necessary. Always practice good digital hygiene: protect your devices with proper security, beware of phishing attempts asking for personal data, and notify us immediately if you suspect any unauthorized access to your or someone else’s data.

  1. Technical and Administrative Measures to Protect Personal Information

We take the security of your personal information seriously and have implemented a variety of technical and administrative safeguards to protect it from loss, theft, unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction . These measures include:

  1. Encryption and Secure Transmission: Whenever your personal data is transmitted over networks, we use encryption protocols (such as HTTPS/TLS) to protect it . For example, when you enter sensitive information in the app, it is encrypted during transit. We also store certain sensitive data (like passwords or authentication tokens) in encrypted form.

  2. Network Security: Our servers are protected by firewalls and intrusion prevention systems to block unauthorized access attempts . We continuously monitor for potential vulnerabilities and attacks. Regular security audits and penetration testing are conducted to strengthen our infrastructure. Up-to-date security patches are applied to our software and systems.

  3. Access Controls and Internal Policies: We limit access to personal information to employees, contractors, and agents who need to know that information to operate, develop, or improve our services . Within the Company, personal data handling is restricted to authorized personnel only. Each authorized staff member is given unique credentials, and access rights are reviewed regularly. We use strong password policies and two-factor authentication for administrative access where possible, and we update credentials periodically .

  4. Employee Training and Awareness: We educate our team about the importance of privacy and security. Employees who handle personal data are trained on our privacy policies and must adhere to them. We emphasize compliance with data protection regulations and internal protocols in regular training sessions . Only designated staff are allowed to handle user personal information, and they are reminded of their obligations to maintain confidentiality.

  5. Privacy Team and Monitoring: ADELAB Inc. has a dedicated privacy protection team (or officer) that oversees the implementation of our privacy policy and security measures . This team conducts periodic checks to ensure that personal data is handled in compliance with this Policy and investigates any potential issues. If a vulnerability or issue is discovered, we act promptly to fix it .

  6. Physical Security: Personal information is processed and stored in secure facilities. We implement physical access controls to buildings and server rooms – for instance, restricted entry, surveillance cameras, and logging of visitors in data storage areas . Hard copies of any sensitive information (if any) are kept in locked cabinets with limited access.

  7. Backups and Recovery: We routinely back up critical data to prevent loss. Backup data is stored securely and encrypted. In the event of a security incident or data breach, we have an incident response plan to contain and resolve the issue and to notify affected users and authorities as required by law.

While we strive to protect your personal information with these measures, please note that no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure. We thus cannot guarantee absolute security. You also play a part in security – please keep your login credentials confidential and alert us if you suspect any unauthorized use of your account.

Lastly, note that if an incident occurs due to circumstances outside our control – for example, you fall victim to a phishing scam or use BizCrush on a compromised device – the Company may not be responsible for those damages if they are not caused by our failure or negligence . We encourage you to remain vigilant in protecting your own personal information.

  1. Processing of Pseudonymized Information

In some cases, we may convert your personal information into pseudonymized data for specific purposes such as generating aggregate statistics, scientific research, or preserving records for the public interest . “Pseudonymized” means that we alter or remove parts of the data that identify you, so that the remaining data cannot be attributed to you without the use of additional information. For example, we might remove names and contact details from a dataset of networking interactions, and replace them with code numbers, before analyzing the data to identify general usage trends.

Key points regarding pseudonymized information:

  1. Irreversible Without Additional Data: When we pseudonymize data, we ensure that it cannot be used to identify a specific individual unless combined with separate, securely stored “key” information. We might hash or encode identifiers, or delete certain fields entirely . The additional information that could re-link the data to an individual is kept separate and secure, or destroyed. This means the pseudonymized dataset by itself is no longer directly identifying you.

  2. Purposes of Use: We use pseudonymized data for purposes permitted by law, such as statistical analysis, academic or scientific research, and improving our services. For instance, we might analyze pseudonymized networking patterns to improve our matching algorithms, or retain a pseudonymized log of connections for research on professional networking trends. In any case, this processing will be in line with the purposes defined at the time of pseudonymization and will not be used in a way that impacts your individual privacy.

  3. Retention and Disposal: Pseudonymized information is retained only for as long as necessary to fulfill the specific purpose for which it was created . We will have a predefined plan or period for using such data, and once the purpose is achieved or the period lapses, we will delete or irreversibly anonymize the data. For example, if pseudonymized data is used for a research project, after the project concludes and results are compiled, the pseudonymized dataset will be destroyed.

  4. Safety Measures for Pseudonymized Data: Although pseudonymized data is not directly identifying, we still apply strong safeguards to prevent any re-identification or misuse . Measures include:

    1. Administrative Safeguards: We have internal guidelines and procedures dedicated to the handling of pseudonymized data, separate from ordinary personal data handling. Only authorized personnel can access pseudonymized datasets, and they receive training on proper procedures .

    2. Technical Safeguards: Access to systems storing pseudonymized data is controlled just like personal data systems. We manage access rights strictly and use access control technologies (firewalls, authentication). If any unique identifiers (like any remaining coded IDs) are present, we protect them (e.g., encryption). Security software and monitoring are in place to prevent unauthorized access .

    3. Physical Safeguards: Systems or locations containing pseudonymized data (such as secure servers or archive rooms) are subject to physical access restrictions. We ensure that any storage media are kept in secure environments with appropriate entry controls .

Pseudonymization is one way we strive to utilize data for beneficial purposes while minimizing privacy risks to individuals. Data that has been fully anonymized (de-identified such that it can never be re-associated with an individual) is no longer considered personal information and may be retained for longer periods as it poses no privacy risk.

  1. Contact Information of the Privacy Officer

We have appointed a Privacy Officer (also known as a Data Protection Officer in some jurisdictions) who is responsible for overseeing our privacy practices and addressing any questions or concerns you may have about your personal information. If you have any questions, complaints, or requests regarding this Privacy Policy or your personal data, you can contact our Privacy Officer or the dedicated department as follows:

  1. Privacy Officer: Jae-Yeop Kim, Director (ADELAB Inc. Development Team)

  2. Email: jyk@adelab.dev

  3. Address: ADELAB Inc., 5th Floor, 6, Bongeunsa-ro 112-gil, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, Republic of Korea (This is our main office address)

  4. Telephone: +82-70-7864-1001 (Korean office number)

We welcome your inquiries and will respond promptly to address your concerns. For security and to protect your privacy, we may ask you to verify your identity (for example, by providing information that confirms you are the account holder) before disclosing or making changes to personal information in response to a request.

If you contact us with a complaint about how we handle your personal information, we will investigate and provide you a response as soon as possible. We aim to resolve all complaints internally, but if you are not satisfied with our response, you may have the right to escalate your complaint to a data protection authority or regulator in your jurisdiction.

Note: If you are in South Korea, you can also seek assistance from authorities like the Personal Information Infringement Report Center (no. 118), the Prosecutors’ Office Cyber Investigation Department (no. 1301), or the Police Cyber Bureau (no. 182). Users in other countries may contact their local data protection regulator or consumer protection agency for further guidance. We hope to resolve any issue directly and encourage you to reach out to us first.

  1. Miscellaneous

  1. Third-Party Links and Services: The BizCrush Service may contain links to external websites or integrate with third-party services (for example, a link to a partner’s site or an embedded map feature). Please note that this Privacy Policy does not apply to any third-party websites or services that are linked to or from BizCrush. Each of those services may have its own privacy policies which we do not control. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any external sites or services before providing personal information to them. ADELAB Inc. is not responsible for the data practices of third parties unaffiliated with us.

  2. International Data Transfers: BizCrush is a global service. If you choose to use the Service from a country other than South Korea, your personal information will likely be transferred to and processed on servers located in South Korea or other countries. We may store and process data in the United States, South Korea, or any country where we or our service providers operate. We take steps to ensure that international data transfers comply with applicable legal requirements. For example, if we transfer personal data from the European Union to a country not deemed “adequate” by the EU, we will use appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses. By using BizCrush, you understand that your information may be transferred to our facilities and those third parties as described.

  3. Children’s Privacy: As noted, our Service is not intended for minors under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 18. If we become aware that a user under 18 has provided us with personal information, we will take steps to delete such information. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child (under 18) has provided personal information to us, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

  1. Notification of Changes

We may update or modify this Privacy Policy from time to time as our services evolve or as privacy laws change. If we make any material changes to the Policy (such as changing the types of data we collect, how we use it, or if we were to start sharing data in new ways), we will notify you in advance as required. Specifically, we will post a notice on our website (the BizCrush homepage or within the app) or in the BizCrush app’s “Announcements” section at least 7 days before the effective date of the new policy . If the changes are significant and affect your rights or how we use your personal data in a big way, we will provide at least 30 days advance notice before the changes take effect . In cases where your consent is required (for example, if a new use of data goes beyond the scope of your original consent), we may seek your consent again. We encourage you to review this page periodically for the latest information on our privacy practices.

The “Effective Date” at the top of this Privacy Policy indicates when the current version came into force.

Announcement Date: April 09, 2025) Effective Date: April 09, 2025

By continuing to use BizCrush after any amendments to this Policy have become effective, you are deemed to have accepted the updated Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to the changes, you should stop using the Service and may delete your account at any time.

  1. Additional Privacy Disclosures for U.S. Users (California Residents)

If you are a resident of the United States, and in particular California, this section provides additional information about your privacy rights under state law, as well as our compliance with specific U.S. privacy regulations.

California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) Rights: The CCPA (as amended by the CPRA) grants California residents certain rights regarding their personal information. These include:

  1. Right to Know: You have the right to request that we disclose what personal information we have collected about you, including the categories of personal information, the sources of that information, the business or commercial purpose for collecting it, and the categories of third parties with whom we share it . Much of this information is provided in this Privacy Policy. To summarize, in the past 12 months we may have collected identifiers (like name, contact details, device IDs), customer records information (contact information, payment info for transactions), internet or electronic activity information (usage logs, IP, etc.), and geolocation/proximity data (through Bluetooth). These were collected from you directly or through your use of the Service, and from your devices. The business purposes include providing the Service features (Sections 1 and 7 of this Policy outline these purposes), and we share information primarily with service providers (Section 2). You can request more detail or a report of your specific personal information by contacting us. Upon verification of your request, we will provide the required information for the 12-month period preceding your request, as required by law.

  2. Right to Delete: You have the right to request that we delete personal information we have collected from you (and direct our service providers to do the same), subject to certain exceptions. Note that we may deny deletion requests if the information is necessary to complete a transaction, provide a service you requested, for security, to comply with legal obligations, or other exceptions permitted by CCPA. Section 5 of this Policy (“Your Rights – Right to Deletion”) explains how you can delete your information. California users can exercise this right by using the Delete Account feature or contacting us. We will confirm receipt of your request, verify your identity, and respond within the timeframe required by law (generally within 45 days, with an extension if needed and communicated).

  3. Right to Opt-Out of Sale or Sharing of Personal Information: The CCPA gives you the right to opt out of the sale of your personal information to third parties . The term “sale” is broadly defined to include transferring personal information to another business or third party for valuable consideration. Importantly, we do not sell your personal information in the traditional sense (for money). We also do not share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising except as described for our own Services (which is considered “sharing” under California law). The only third-party data transfers we do involve our service providers (who use it solely for our purposes) or limited scenarios with your consent (as detailed in Section 2). Therefore, in the normal course, there is no need to opt out because we don’t sell your data. If in the future we engage in any activity that could be construed as a “sale” or “sharing” under CCPA, we will provide a clear method for you to opt out (such as a “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link on our website). You also have the right to send an opt-out preference signal, such as the Global Privacy Control (GPC), through your browser. If our site detects a GPC signal from a California resident, we will treat it as a valid opt-out of sale/sharing request.

  4. Right to Non-Discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your CCPA rights . This means if you choose to exercise your rights (for example, by requesting deletion or opting out of data sharing), we will not deny you our services, charge you different prices, or provide you a lower quality of service just because you exercised your rights. In certain cases, however, if the deletion of your data prevents us from providing a certain service, we may inform you that you can no longer use that service (for instance, if you delete all your contact information, we cannot provide networking suggestions).

  5. Right to Correct: Under the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA) amendments, you have the right to request correction of any inaccurate personal information we hold about you . As described in Section 5, you can edit most of your information directly, or you can contact us to correct it. We will use commercially reasonable efforts to correct the information upon verification of your request.

  6. Right to Limit Use of Sensitive Personal Information: The CPRA also introduced rights regarding “sensitive personal information.” BizCrush generally does not collect highly sensitive data like social security numbers, driver’s license numbers, precise geolocation, or financial account information outside of the limited payment information for purchases (which we handle securely and only for transaction purposes). We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes that would trigger a “Right to Limit” under California law (such as using sensitive information for profiling or secondary purposes). Therefore, we do not offer a specific opt-out for limiting use of sensitive data, because we only use such data for necessary purposes (e.g., processing a payment) and with your knowledge. If that ever changes, we will update this Policy and provide appropriate opt-out mechanisms.

  7. Exercising California Rights: If you are a California resident and would like to exercise any of the above rights (access/know, delete, opt-out, correct, etc.), you may do so by contacting us through the methods listed in Section 11 (Contact Information). You can email us at jyk@adelab.dev with the subject line “CCPA Request” and specify which right you seek to exercise. We will need to verify your identity (or authority, if you are an authorized agent making the request on behalf of someone else) before processing your request. Verification may involve providing us with information that matches our records (for example, verifying your email address and phone number that you registered with). For an authorized agent, we may require proof of your written permission for the agent to act on your behalf, and we may still ask you to verify your identity directly.

We will respond to verifiable consumer requests within 45 days, as required by law, or inform you in writing if we need more time (up to an additional 45 days). Our response will cover the information required by law, typically pertaining to the 12-month period preceding the request, unless you request a longer look-back period and the law allows it.

California “Shine the Light” Law: California Civil Code § 1798.83 (also known as the “Shine the Light” law) allows California users to request certain information about our disclosure of personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing purposes. Please note that we do not disclose personal information to third parties for their independent direct marketing purposes without your consent. We only share information with third parties as described in this Policy, primarily for our own service purposes or with your consent (e.g., with an event host or when you exchange contacts with another user). Therefore, we believe Shine the Light does not apply to BizCrush in any material way. If you have questions about this or believe this has happened, you can contact us for further information.

Do Not Track (CalOPPA Disclosure): Some web browsers or devices offer a “Do Not Track” (“DNT”) feature that lets you signal to websites that you do not want to be tracked across different sites over time. Currently, there is no uniform standard for how to interpret DNT signals, and thus BizCrush does not respond to Do Not Track signals on its website. We continue to monitor developments around DNT standards. Instead of DNT, we provide you with the tools and choices described in this Policy (such as in Section 7 and within the app) to control the data collected about you. Keep in mind that third parties, such as our analytics or advertising partners, may collect information about your online activities over time and across different websites when you use our site, as described in Section 7. They may not respond to DNT signals either, for the same reason of lacking a standard. However, you can opt out of certain third-party tracking by using the methods we described (e.g., opt-out of personalized ads, or using browser settings and extensions to block tracking). We will update this disclosure if a standard for browser-based DNT signals is established in the future and we change our practices accordingly .

Other U.S. State Privacy Laws: In addition to California, other states (such as Colorado, Virginia, Connecticut, and Utah) have enacted their own privacy laws. If you are a resident of one of these states, you may have similar rights to access, correct, or delete your data, and to opt out of certain types of data processing (like targeted advertising or profiling) . BizCrush will honor valid requests under those state laws as well. You can contact us in the same way described above for California to exercise your rights under other state laws. We are committed to providing all users in the U.S. with at least the privacy rights described in this Policy, regardless of your state of residence.

If you have any questions about this Section 14 or how BizCrush complies with U.S. state privacy laws, you can reach out to our Privacy Officer or use the contact information in Section 11. We are here to help and will clarify any aspect of your privacy rights upon request. Your privacy is important to us, and we strive to be transparent about our practices in accordance with the law and industry standards.
